Woke up this morning.....You were on my mind....

Why is it that some people can just hug you better than anyone else???

And sometimes, that's all you need, and they seem to know it and poof!

Everything is better.

and yet, even though it's so perfect, the timing is still not quite right?

Catching Up

Sorry I've been MIA.  Allergies have been killing me!  I really don't have bad allergies.  But for a few days a year, EVERY year I am pretty miserable.  It lasted a week this year.  Maybe they get worse as you get older??  Anyways, I am now in love with Claritin.

I am going to totally bulletize this post.  Just because I have a lot to say and none of it goes together.

•  I bought a new car!  I made an appointment to talk to a guy, test drive and tell him what I want.  I ended up leaving having ordered a BRAND NEW 2010 Ford Fusion.  In Sterling Grey, dark cloth interior.  It's hot.  I can't WAIT to get it.  I guess when you order a car like that, it can take 8 - 10 weeks to get it in.  Boo.  But it gives me some time to prepare myself and rework my budget a bit so it won't be such a shock I guess.  (Which also means more time spent at home!)

•   I made a To Do list last night.  It's almost 3 pages long.  My goal is to get it all crossed off by the end of Labor Day weekend.  As soon as I am done with this post, I am getting busy.  I have no plans today, and I am purposely staying home next weekend (skipping yet another b-lette party) to work on my house and get some half done projects finished.

• Tomorrow I have a baby shower for my great friend Allyson.  Her family was my "second family" when I was in college.  I worked at a gas station in a small town and her mom was my boss.  She worked with me, and so did her younger sister for a while.  I spent a lot of nights at their home when the weather was too bad to drive back to Wayne, and had a lot of dinners there too.  I was like another daughter, and gained 3 sisters in the process.  Anyways, hopefully the weather cooperates, because her dad is going to take Brody fishing while all the ladies are having our baby shower.  How awesome is that??  Brody is so excited.

• I'm pissed at Adam again.  Go figure.  I really don't know what his problem is this time.  He ended up having a conversation with my part time boss a few weeks ago and of course I came up.  I've heard both sides of the story now and still don't get it.  Basically I am awesome (they both agreed to that).  So I guess that means Adam should be a dumbass.  Whatever.  He isn't allowed to talk to me until he grows up.  It's been a week.  (Can I just fast forward him a few years so he will grow up?? Seriously.)

•  Last weekend was our town celebration Western Days.  My future sister in laws family has decided I need to be set up with this guy, so they snuck him over here to meet me.  He had no idea he was meeting me, or that it was a sort of set up.  They told him he needed to help bring over some chairs.  I got a call around 8:30 right after getting out of the shower, saying get up here you need to meet this guy.  Since I was dripping wet and didn't even have a babysitter for another hour, they had to stall him until I got there.  So he just joined in and drank beer until I showed up.  Pretty sure now he knows what the whole deal was about, because they introduced me and chatted for a few minutes, and then it was like, well time to go!  Kinda funny, really.  I am thinking of adding him as a facebook friend and just see if a conversation starts.  He's 36, divorced his cheating wife about 6 years ago, good looking, 6th grade teacher, wants kids of his own...... probably much better for me than my current situation.

• Has anyone else heard about the new Cash for Clunkers Appliance stimulus package???  Good thing I haven't gotten a new dishwasher, toilet, washing machine or dryer yet!  (Not that I can really afford them now anyways!)

• What's for breakfast??  I am starving.

I'm totally ready for this.

Or at least, I am trying to be! Brody started preschool. He loves it. Am I surprised? Not at all.

He goes all day, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Yesterday was his first day. He told me the night before not to worry about waking him up, because he can just do it himself. Sure enough, he was out of bed and ready to go by 6:30. I hadn't even finished a cup of coffee yet!

It's hard to believe he can be old enough to go to school already! He was such a big kid, walking into the building. It amazed me that a lot of other (older) students who saw us in the hall all said Hi Brody! as we walked past. I guess he "knows" them from Sunday Scool and Bible School. We walked into his room and he gave me a HUGE hug goodbye (he must have known I needed it!) and that was that!

I could not wait to go home yesterday and hear all about it! It was by far the highlight of my day, and I am sure it will be every Monday, Wednesday and Friday for the rest of the year!

He told me that Mizzuz Bebaby (his way of saying her name) showed him around and let him play with Jevon his BESTEST FRIEND all day! He got to eat PIZZA for breakfast and "some kind of brown meat" on a bun for lunch. And he only ate one bean and nobody told him he had to eat more! He played in the sandbox at recess (as I dumped the sand out of his shoe) with Jevon and a kid with a green shirt, and ate lunch next to the girl named Hope with dark hair.

OH - and Isabella wore a dress that Mizzuz Bebaby said was beautiful, but he did NOT think it was beautiful. Apparantly it was a pink and orange tutu....

He also had music time where he sang and showed off his "dance moves". (he gets that from his aunt who is in dance squad.) and he played in the kitchen, drank 3 milks, and went to the bathroom the same time as 2 other boys.

And did you know that we have bones in our bodies? That's the hard part. If we didn't have them we would just be a pile of squish! It's a good thing I made him with bones.

notNeutral glassware giveaway!

I recently got the opportunity to do a review for the amazing www.livingroomsdirect.com.

This website is awesome, there is so much to choose from! I was introduced to a brand called notNeutral.

I am in love with the style of this brand! It's so funky, yet still clean and sophisticated. Here's what I choose to review:

notNeutral - Links Double Old Fashioned Glassware Set. I was a little leary about ordering glassware online, and having it shipped to me, but it was packaged up so well!! It also arrived at the speed of lightning! I wasn't expecting to get it so soon, it was a wonderful surprise!

These glasses are great! I chose to try these, because at my house, if you want something to drink, you have three choices. A coffee cup, a colored plastic cup, or a misc. superhero cup. Kind of embarrassing.

I am delighted with these glasses. They are 14 oz., glass, with an etched ribbon design on them. I want the rest of them now to make a set! (and I just might be doing that.)

Here are some more of my favorites from the notNeutral line:

Seriously. How adorable are these dishes??

and these cups and saucers? Hello, lover. I want these for the next time I have to host family holidays.

This shallow bowl has my name written all over it! How perfect would that be sitting in the middle of the table?

and the pillows - they are all this adorable! Who wouldn't want one!
www.livingrooms direct is offering you guys a chance to own the same glassware set that I received!
To enter please visit the site and tell me what other notNeutral item is your favorite!

Contest ends this Monday at noon. I was going to end it Friday, but now I'm going to be of town, so I'm extending it over the weekend!!
Good Luck!

It's Friday Eve!!!

Has anyone else out there done Jillian's 30 day shred? I have started it twice before and never finished. I've been reading a lot of other peoples blogs, and they are claiming to have lost inches. SO, I decided to pull it out and try it again for a third time.

I just got done with Workout 1 (10 days. Okay, so it took me 13 days, but still). I lost an inch off my waist and a half inch off my thighs!! WooHoo!!! You are kicking my ass Jillian, and I love you for it. I can't wait to start Workout 2 tonight. But seriously, who would have thought that 20 minutes of jumping jacks and side lunges could make you sweat so much???

I have been selling a bunch of old clothes on ebay recently. (you know, because they are all too big now!!! YAY!) I recently bought this gorgeous Evan Piccone dress with some of my earnings. I am wearing it to a wedding next weekend. The best part is that I really didn't even have to pay for it, using my ebay sales.

Another thing I am looking at buying is a pair of Ariat fatbaby boots. Does anyone out there own any?? There are 2 pairs on ebay that I want, but they are both size 10. I wear a 9 1/2 usually. Do they run big, or will I be okay getting the 10s? I don't want to get them and have them be so big I can't even wear them.

I am shopping for Brody tomorrow with the money I've gotten for selling his old stuff. Can't beat that!

Where has the summer gone???

Can you believe it's already AUGUST!?!?!?

I can't get over it. Brody starts preschool in exactly 2 weeks. I have mixed emotions. It is bittersweet. I am excited for him, he'll have so much fun and get to meet new friends, and do new things, but at the same time I wouldn't mind it if he just stayed my baby for another year.
Speaking of preschool, I am slightly upset with the school. We had to register our kids way back in April. I have not heard one thing back from them since. Not one letter welcoming us to the school, nothing telling us what supplies he will need, nothing telling me when and who I pay, No round up for the kids, nothing.

I got the school newsletter last week, and really thought there would be some sort of info in it. For grade school? Yes. For high school? Yes. For preschool? Nothing. Except that they start on the 19th. And that it is 3 days a week, all day. (seems a bit much to me, for 4 year olds)

So on Monday I called the school. The secretary knew no more than I did about anything. She said she would call me back when the teacher started arriving to work on her room. Great. I don't know, maybe it would be nice to know what I need to buy for him before the week it starts? It might also be handy to know when you are expecting me to pay you that $120 a month. and just an idea - but unless you want a room full of crying scared 4 year olds, maybe we should all get together and introduce the kids to you before the first day of school???? Just a suggestion. I mean, you do it for the kindergartners, who have already been in the building for a year.

Yeah, I might be a little bitter about that.

I am going "school shopping" for Brody this Friday. (It seems so weird to say that.) It's tax free weekend and I have a stack full of coupons and gift cards. Hopefully I can get some good stuff. Just possibly for me too. Too bad I can't actually buy his supplies. I know if I just randomly buy colors and stuff, they will be the wrong kind, etc. and I'll have to buy more, so I better just wait.
I need to buy a new car. I am slightly scared. I have actually needed a new car for a few years now. But I keep putting it off. It's just so NICE to not have a car payment. I have had this car (a black Escort ZX2) since I was a sophmore in college. So, going on 9 years. It's actually still in great shape, runs fantastic, and gets awesome gas mileage. But, it is not a practical car for me anymore. Honestly, it hasn't been a practical car for me since I became a mother, but I have made it work.

This is what I want:

A Ford Fusion, either 2009 or 2010. I really like the green/silver color, which is 2009, so if I can find that a dark interior, that is what I will get. Otherwise, the above blue (which I actually think is just a hybrid color) or a dark charcoal. My car right now is black, so I'd rather have a color than charcoal, but I don't think I'd mind it.
I just really need dark interior, with a 4 year old and a dog that travels with us in the car a lot. My sister is 16, and needs a car, so she is going to buy my car from me. (And when I say buy - I mean do a lot of free babysitting. I'm sweet like that.) Since I am not trading in, I can't take advantage of the Clunkers deal, but my car isn't considered a clunker anyways. I want to try to buy one by the end of August/early September. That is when I will start having a little extra each month, because even though I have to pay for preschool, and he will still be going to daycare the other 2 days a week, I will still end up having around $85-$100 more each month. Also, Spetember is the end of the quarter, which means we will (hopefully) be getting a good bonus check at work that can cover my courthouse fees and taxes. I can't even really look right now, because the lots are crazy busy with everone trading in. But I am pretty sure this is what I want. Unless I randomly fall in love with something else in the next few weeks.
Wish me luck. I

Yesterday was a busy day.  It might have been one of the best days of Brody's life!  He was sooooooo happy!  We went to the 185th Air National Guard Air Show.  It was really cool.  We got to go inside all the different planes, and Brody even got to sit in the pilot's chair and the pilots were teaching him about flying.

He has been really interested in space and planets and astronauts lately, so this has just fueled that and now I think he is adding pilot to his list of what he wants to be when he grows up.

Here he is sitting on one of the planes.  I don't know what the name of the plane is, but this was one that was used to jump out of.  His face is priceless in this picture.

These were really cool to see.  B52's that actually flew in WWII.  I was amazed by how well they moved in the air, for being older planes.   We also got to see some F16s that were really cool, and I don't remember the names of the other ones we saw.  We didn't stay for the whole air show, because we also had plans on going to the Transformers movie, so we had to leave before it was over.  But we did see them flying around as we were leaving.

The Transformers movie was pretty good too, but maybe a little long for a 4 year old after an already long day.  Brody's favorite part of the day?  Getting a $2 model airplane that he hasn't let go of since he got it.  he was asleep in the car snoring all the way home.

Adam knows I am in ultimatum mode.  I told him I've been giving my number out.  He has been calling more, and trying to spend more time with me,  and I know he's afraid I mean it this time.  I do.  He went to his family's cabin this weekend with his family.  Maybe they can talk some sense into him.

Today I need to get groceries, but otherwise it's laundry and cleaning, and just hanging out with Brody.  What did you do this weekend?
